Dougie, Thanks for that, think you’ve addressed one of my biggest problems. When I walk I always wear away the outside of my soles and heels. On long rides, 50 miles plus, this always results in pain/cramp on the ball of my foot towards the end of the ride. Should I look to add a better insole to correct this?

Sucks. He cut his bike stem and probably shouldn’t. If you’re going to chop away at the bike you really should spend a little money on fit. Otherwise stop pretending to be a pro.

What about foot pain on the bottom mid section of my feet? I have superfeet insoles in already, but I get pain with the superfeet and the original Lake insoles as well.

Notice pain in the outside of my foot especially with sweetspot or higher effort type rides. Typically only the right foot which I believe has an anatomic long leg

Can you compare these to the newer stuff?

I got a Specialized saddle a couple of years ago that has been working just fine. The problem with Specialized is the price. $300 for a saddle is crazy but It's holding up well so I stopped crying finally.

Guys move the saddle 6mm up and 6 mm forward and the stearing stem 4mm up

Interesting, I shift with index/middle when going easy, but shift with ring/pinky when going at full tilt

I've got a carbon fiber covered with faux leather and is only $50 on amazon... it's 135mm wide which is the trick for me and many men due to sitting bones width.... extremely comfortable ...

I have been looking at this shoe but in a wide and for road cycling. My feet wearing socks which is how Lake says to measure are about 114mm wide and 277mm long.The Lake size chart then says to add 5mm so that brings me to 282mm.That puts me at a 44.5 .If my length was 283.5 then their chart puts me at a 45.I am asking you if I should size up to a 45 or go with 44.5? Their are no stores within 100 miles of me in Wisconsin USA...Can you help please ?, and greatly appreciated.Thanks

Never reduce the reach from the bike of the bike unless its a center of gravity issue, mate.

That doesn't account for differences in ankling. It's pretty normal (and functional) to have 20 degrees of ankling, for example. This test would suggest that a saddle height with 20 degree ankling is too high.
